The Peter Parkers Are in Atlanta

And no, “The Peter Parkers” are not a barbershop quartette. The six young men in the running to play Peter Parker are in Atlanta right now for final screentests with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, Spider-Man producer Amy Pascal, and Joe and Anthony Russo; the directors of Captain America: Civil War and the upcoming two-parter Avengers: Infinity War. The list has changed since we last reported on it, with only two of the original list included, plus some new names.

Ender’s Game star Asa Butterfield has made the cut. Earlier rumours that he was the frontrunner must have been false.

Also making the trip to Atlanta from the original list of candidates, The Impossible‘s Tom Holland.

New to the list is Charlie Plummer, best known for his role as Michael Thompson on Boardwalk Empire.

And Charlie Rowe, best known for his role on the Fox series, Red Band Society.

This next contender seems a little young, but he’s not very well-known so maybe there aren’t any recent pictures of Matthew Lintz. We’ll be seeing more of him regardless, as he’ll be appearing alongside Adam Sandler in the upcoming Pixels, and with Matthew McConaughey in The Free State of Jones.

The last name on the list is Judah Lewis, and again he seems a little too young for the role. Judah is the most unknown of the group of potential Peter Parkers (that’s some good alliteration), but we will be seeing him soon as the young Johnny Utah in the Point Break remake later this year.

Whoever gets the role will star in their own Marvel Universe solo film in 2017, but will make their first appearance in Captain America: Civil War, which is already in production now so Marvel will have to make their decision soon. We’ll probably hear the official choice soon. Check back to Pulp Nation for more casting news about the newest Avenger, Spider-man!
