It’s been a while since we’ve seen anything from “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice”. The trailer was released back in April, and since then it’s been a steady stream of Suicide Squad details. We’ve almost completely forgotten about this massive movie spectacle coming next year, that pins DC Comics‘ heaviest hitters against each other.
Well now Warner Brother’s have released an official plot synopsis for their upcoming superhero showdown:
“Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.”
It’s vague and pretty much exactly what we expected, but it’s something. We can only speculate what the threat will be that causes The Dark Knight and The Man of Steel to set aside their differences and work together, but with Jesse Eisenberg appearing as Lex Luthor we can only assume that he’ll have some dastardly plan. And how will the other rumoured DC characters be worked into the story? Gal Gadot and Jason Momoa are supposed to appear, as Wonder Woman and Aquaman respectively, but it’s still unclear if it will be a cameo or if we’ll see The Justice League together by the end of film.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice opens on March 25, 2016, and stars Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill as the title characters.
