“The Flash” Casts Two New Baddies

The Rogues gallery of the popular CW series The Flash just keeps growing and growing… Rogues being the key word in that sentence, because the dear old dad of some of the shows villainous characters that are members of “The Rogues” will be joining the cast. Michael Ironside will be making his appearance as the patriarch of the Snart family, Lewis Snart. You may not know who Ironside is from the name, but trust me, you know his face.

Most nerds would be familar with Michael Ironside‘s face due to his appearances in several science fiction shows and movies like Terminator Salvation, Starship Troopers, Smallville, X-Men: First Class, and Stargate: SG1.

Lewis Snart is the often abusive father of Leonard and Lisa Snart, also known as Captain Cold and Golden Glider, respectively. Both characters have already made appearances on the show, portrayed by Wentworth Miller and Peyton List. Mr. Snart’s arrival on the series will probably shake things up for both The Flash and the Snarts.

The other villain we will be seeing in season 2 is Atom Smasher. There’s been pictures of the character on set circulating for a while now, but nobody knew who was behind the mask. Until now, of course. It’s former WWE wrestler The Edge, or Adam Copeland.

copeland-atom-smasherHere’s the official statement from The CW:

“One of the most powerful enemies we encounter this season, Atom Smasher has come to Central City to kill The Flash. His incredible strength and ability to grow to enormous size makes him more than a match for Flash and the entire S.T.A.R. Labs team will have to come together to find a way to defeat him.”
So it looks like season 2 of The Flash is going to be bigger and better, pun intended. The season kicks off on The CW on October 6th.
