Rick and Morty Season 2 Trailer and Early Review

I got an opportunity this week to see the first two episodes of Rick and Morty‘s second season. What more can I say other than this show is genius? With a perfect blend of crude and idiotic humour, fart jokes, and science, Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon continue to prove that they are some of the most twisted and clever writer’s working right now.

To give you some minor plot information without any spoilers, the first episode takes place right where season one left off. You’ll recall that they had froze time to clean up after their crazy, literally “out-of-this-world” party. Well stopping time for that long has some side effects that they need to clean up, and they use a very unique animation technique to portray those consequences as they try to fix their collapsing timeline. Episode 2 takes Rick and Morty on a space adventure to a futuristic arcade, while Morty tries to rescue a gas monster that is voiced by Jemaine Clement from Flight of the Conchords. Both episodes have a side story for Jerry (and sometimes Beth) that are absolutely hilarious, especially if like me, Jerry is your favourite character on Rick and Morty.

Poor Jerry.

Two episodes in and I am already incredibly excited for season 2. It has been a long hiatus of over a year for the show, so fans of Rick and Morty have been dying for more episodes. From what I’ve seen so far, the wait was worth it.

Oh, and here’s a trailer for season 2, which premiers July 26th at 11:30 on Adult Swim.

Wubba lubba dub dub!

About Drew Comerford (151 Articles)
The youngest student to ever be accepted to MIT (7 years old) Drew was a certified child genius. Unfortunately his other organs, limbs...basically everything were nowhere near as powerful as his brain. Drew in a desperate attempt to match the power of his body to that of his mind started experimenting with different animal organs and appendages. Some worked out, and some...not so much. The team takes great pleasure in replacing Drew's parts (which he loses regularly in battle) with the most obscure and useless replacements they can find. Drew is not a fan of this ongoing tomfoolery.
