If you’re looking for the next huge hit from Image Comics, you need not look any further than Undiscovered Country.

This book may end up an even bigger deal than The Walking Dead.

Industry veterans Scott Snyder and Charles Soule speculate what might happen should the United States suddenly pull up stakes and isolate themselves from the rest of the world.

And readers are sure to react viscerally to this piece of speculative fiction; especially considering the current political climate within the United States.

That research for Undiscovered Country included the aid of a current CIA advisor and a visit to the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is no surprise when one considers the incredible attention to detail in every panel of this outstanding book.

And speaking of detail, Giuseppe Camuncoli’s pencils and Daniel Orlandini inks, along with the colors of Matt Wilson fully immerse the reader into this strange, terrifying, and not so far-fetched new world. I’ll tell you: Undiscovered Country made my heart race. And few books do accomplish that feat.

This title moves along so rapidly readers might not notice how dense with information it is. What’s great, even with that density of information you never feel as though you miss anything. The pacing is first-rate and with the collective skill of the creative team behind this book, that’s no surprise.

Final Thoughts – Undiscovered Country #1

Undiscovered Country is a high-concept comic in theory, but in practice, it is a completely different animal.

Snyder and Soule take the reader beyond a typical “what if” scenario and build a world and characters readers will root for.

But best of all Nation, this book will make you think.

With masterful pen and brush strokes, Undiscovered Country #1 proves once again why Image Comics is the best in the industry.

Undiscovered Country #1 will be available at your local comic book store November 6, 2019.
